if you were wandering on how to get rear disk brakes I found 2 cars that you can get it and is cheaper than the 92 camry sawp thats 5 lugs you need any of these cars since they are 4 lugged already if I'm correct 88-92 corolla gts or 92 geo prizim gsi they came with the 4age motor and rear disk break now my friend is doing this swap right now as soon he is finish I will tell you all the details we found a geo prizim 92 gsi and we took the rear disk for his car and everyting bolted up exept for the adjustable arm that you have to take it and weld the other part that holds the holes the break to be adjusted(the control arm braket) I will put pic later sorry for my english         |

i wanted to buy it new. i just need the rear disc brake hardware kit right and buy the rotors and pads myself?

here in the philippines, alot of used orig ae101/ae111 rear disc brakes are sold here. mostly came from japan,it costs around 5k-6,5k peso. thats about 100-120 us dollars. complete assembly that comes with the rotors,calipers,spindles and the cable itself. hope this helps

I just did the conversion to my corolla 93 using the 92 geo prizm gsi. It worked like a charm... Thank you for the info!!!

Just to clarify, and I don't know if I will ever get a reply on this, but from reading over this thread, that "U" shaped bracket from the AE92 suspension arms are cut off and welded to the AE101 arms, correct?? My question is, and I'm sure this was tried already, but couldn't you just swap the AE92 arms over or are the y too long? If not, what is different from the AE101 arms?

I've actually been looking at some cars in the junk yard to solve this issue with rear disc for the Corolla. I believe I found a solution but it will require some modification no matter what. The donor vehicle is a 99 Lexus ES300. Two draw backs.... First issue, the strut to knuckle bolt pattern is different. Everything else looks the same. Now in mycase, I have coil overs. I contacted D2 and they actually offer coil overs for the ES300. And, D2 sells the lower sleeves by themselves and they will screw on to my existing coilovers. Price for each sleeve though is roughly $300.00 each!!! totaling $600! Plus the salvage parts! But, basically I Just swap the lower coil over sleeve that screws on the coil over and then bolt on all the parts. Second issue, So my rears would now be 5-lug and front would be 4 lug. 949 racing doesn't make 5 lug wheels in a 15" wheel  Here's a couple pictures of the ES300 rear knuckle and hub...    |
