Hey guys my wife's Nova is messing up again. It died on her yesterday and I was able to drive it after pumping it full of carb stocking but it would barely move. I would floor it and it would take a good while to go up to 10mph..lol..any ideas?? When I turn it on and rev it from the engine bay I can here blowing noise coming from the carburetor.

Sounds like a clog catalitic converter or slipping tranny

I'm removing the cat tomorrow morning with the help of some PB Blaster..lol..and then run it without and see if it runs better.

Well took out the two bolts from the flexible and header to see if the cat was clogged and it still was messing up. Changed the plugs and it still was messing up the same. What now?? lol

It sounds like you have a fuel problem...pump, carb, filter, etc.........

Filter is new, pump not, and carb has less than 4 years..might be fuel pump.

The car is smoking white and the plugs were black and some had oil in them

well like every one said headgasket, also first do a compression test on the coolant to make sure its really blown, any over heating issues?

The nova overheats every once and a while cause it loses water thru reservoir. My brother checked for bubbles in the radiator but didnt see anything.
