Let me make something clear....this is sort of a rant
First let me tell you all of what Ive done since I've began messing with Corollas.
2006-bought wrecked 93 Corolla base 4AFE 3-speed auto. Repaired front end damage, new hood, fenders, bumper. Sold it later to buy my 97 (which I curently drive)
2007-bought the 97 Corolla DX with 7AFE 3-speed auto w/overdrive. Swapped motor to 4AGE 20V and converted it to a manual.
2009-bought 94 Corolla base with 7AFE with bad motor. Swapped motor and flipped car for cash to help pay for the 20V swap in my 97.
2011-bought 93 Corolla DX 7AFE with auto tranny with bad motor. Swapped in my old motor (from 97) and swapped in a Manual tranny from a 94 Geo Prizm.
Now this last swap brings me to my point. I have done more crap to these cars then anyone should. I'm almost burnt on the Corolla after all I've done. I'm not sure I can do another swap or flip car on a Corolla again lol
But before anyone here decides they wat to take on swapping and interchanging parts. Don't assume it's just as easy as everyone makes it seem. This last car I swapped has given me HELL!!!! The body is a 93. My motor was from a 97. The intake manis....different....The motor mount for the tranny on a manual prizm and corolla....different....The harness and ECU isssues....nightmare! The 7AFE heads.....DIFFERENT. I won't explain how I found this out...but jus know that it's not all interchangeable. These engines did go thru some changes through out the years between 93 to 97.
So next time I see someone post up something that is incorrect, be sure that Im gonna correct you. I don't speak BS off the top off my head cus I heard it somewhere else. I speak it cus i know...cus i done it, been thru it, know what it took to get it done. So please CCC, lets not be like some other forums out there and speak what you know is true. Or don't speak at all. It will save alot of people time and money.
Rant over...Knowledge is power ;D
