This thread is for anybody with a 7AFE or 4AFE header or exhaust? Basically looking for ideas since a friend of mine is looking to upgrade his exhaust and intake on my old 7AFE.
I've heard of OBX headers and a full cat-back exhaust. Looking for any other good brands out there that some of my fellow CCC members have had experience with or can say they are a reputable brand. I realize there aren't alot of options for these engines and jus tryin to see what else may be out there.
Thanks and pics would definitely be a plus.

I just bought a set ceramic coated on ebay for about $80 and they still lasting no rust no problems , Depends what you looking for but make sure they are ceramic coated .
Oh and the 4afe the Oxyegn sensor is located differently but the headers are the same design .

Headers will make it sound raspy.

I would be careful about the header. I have a JVT header and it required me to get rid of my AC pipe since it was in the way of the 02 sensor. My friend who also had a 95 Corolla had the same issue. But I have another friend with a 97 Corolla who didn't have this problem for some reason. Maybe the engine bay is slightly different after 95? My car didn't sound raspy at all. Sounded the same actually. As far as butt dyno goes, I felt a more responsive throttle but that's really about it. And it does look nice. I'll probably get rid of it soon to get back my AC for summer.

As far as exhaust goes, I would highly recommend the Tsudo exhaust if you don't mind the can look. I'm not sure if they make it for our cars anymore though.. It's not too loud either. Just a nice rumble. I've had it for 5 years now and it still hasn't rusted or changed in pitch.

^^^ Well I'll be a monkey's uncle... your AC pipe doesn't touch the 02 at all?
lol well then I guess avoid the OBX and JVT header if you love your AC.

lol, you buy the expensive parts, and they don't fit properly. My OBX hit the a/c line, the car never had a/c again lol.
Kenny, you have the OBX high-flow cat? I had the same catback and it was very loud and raspy at certain RPMs.

thanks for all the input. I'm very glad I started this thread or my friend would be bashing me about the A/C issue. Not that it should be to difficult to work around. That metal pipe can bend a little with the right tool. I watched the guy do my A/C lines when I had them custom made. But obviously I don't really want to if I don't have to.
Ant, did that header have any brand name that you can remember by chance? Just want to make sure I get the same one?

Just a regular no name brand header for $80. but it was ceramic coated , make sure you get ceramic coated and they wont rust . And this header was for a 1.8 .

If it rumbles then its your motor mounts cause mine doesnt thats what the flex pipe in the bottom is for so that its not a stiff exhaust system

oh the system doesnt shake. it's all bolted perfectly. its just a rumble sound i can hear as the exhaust flows through the header.

I had the same catback and it was very loud and raspy at certain RPMs. lol I know right? That's ebay for ya. And I didn't have the highflow cat. Just an OEM cat. I guess that would be the source of rasping maybe?

Probably, since the OEM cat is the most restrictive part of the system.
