Quick update: My new HID's came in the mail yesterday, I put em in today and I'm way happier now than the ones I had before, I guess I needed 6000k more than anything. With the hi-beams on without em But on a side note while I save up to get a blacktop and do the swap, I wanna try this out on my car ( corollacarclub.proboards.com/thread/52/front-bumper-lights-hids-corolla ), I think it would look nice, any opinions?

It's been a while, I didn't disappear, just been watching from the sidelines. My rolla has seen some changes since then, some more major than others. First was the new wheels Next it was time to lower the car, that super high ride height was out of hand, so I went all in, bought a set of coilovers, and some other components to tighten up that suspension. One whole check just gone :/ Whiteline rear strut bar, ebay front strut bar, and some unnamed coilovers (good price on them and they do the job well I must say. The result after first installing the coilovers without adjusting anything at all. Sad to say it was too low for everyday driving I was always scrubbing, I got stuck on a speed hump before and I hit a armadillo one night and it ripped the clips off my bumper. So I just got another one lol and raised the ride height some. The mods don't end there, I got more planned. Next up is the 5 speed conversion, after 2 years of beating around the bush, and searching for the parts (which I found pretty quick once I was willing to pay the price) is finally happening. I will be posting up a full write up of it with pics for others who want to get an idea of what to do. Any comments, questions, or suggestions are more than welcome, I'm doing this conversion for the first time and I'm going in mostly blind, some say it's super easy, others say it's pretty hard, I'll find out on Sunday the 22nd when I get started on it. Here's some of the parts, I got so far. ARP flybolts, the transmission mount, power steering hose (not needed for the conversion mine just had a leak lol), clutch kit with flywheel and throwout bearing, speed sensor (not needed for the swap again mine went out), the shifter (which if anyone has an oem shift knob and boot, [the ugly rubber ones] and wants to get rid of or sell let me know please, I want one) and some new hids for my headlights and for when I remount my fog lights.

Nice LE man and I need to find me those seats in gray. Since you're doing a 5 speed swap do you want a genuine Toyota gasket set for the C50/52 transmission? I won't need it and also won't be needing my oem shifter cables either, PM me for info.

nice progress, really like how it's coming out. Let me know if you need any help with the manual swap. I've done it on two Corolla's so I'm pretty familiar with it. On a side note, I actually found some seats that match good. They are more redish brown but now I'm quite happy. I also need to change my door cards and seat belts to match, and then I'm done with swapping my interior.

It's been a while since I updated but ummm yea this swap is a pain in my side. I won't ever recommend it someone new who's got little mechanical experience. It's been nothing but trouble after trouble, the car is put back together and I'll post pics later but I have a major question for everyone has done this before. So I bled the clutch, the brakes and the car is put back together properly but I can't drive it. I put the driver seat in this morning and I started it up (w/open headers just for the lolz) and then I couldn't put it in first gear to save my life. As a matter of fact it wouldn't go into any gear at all. So I shut the car off and I went through all the gears PERFECTLY fine. So I started it in first gear and she started rolling fine, then tried shifting into second and it just goes straight to neutral -________- Went all the way around my neighborhood in first gear to get back to my house because I couldn't get into reverse. Now with that being said, anyone have a clue on what's going on here?

Well after many man hours of failure the 5 speed I bought turned out to have messed up synchros for every gear but 1st and reverse and so it locked me of em. So because of lack of extra money and time for this project, I had to convert the car back to automatic. Of course that didn't go without a hitch, because thats the general nature of working on your car. I had to get a new starter, passenger side cv axle, radiator and fan in the process of going back to auto. After getting to drive my car again, I feel a little sad for saying and doing this but I put the car up for sale so someone, who can do all things I wanted to do with the car could. I just don't have the money to do the conversion or even the 4age swap like I wanted and I'm too impatient to save up for it.I will still post pics of the conversion process but this is it for me with this current Rolla, the next one will bigger and badder. And for anyone interested in buying ALL the parts for the 5spd conversion (transmission, clutch and flywheel included as well) {message me) or my old car, here's the link: lakeland.craigslist.org/cto/4649444040.html
