Finally sitting back on all fours Also got the new drivers door panel mounted and wires ran into the cabin for the power window motor Ok finally got some up to date pics. Not as good as i would like but still decent looking. Even with it raining i managed to get this one. Ok here's a few videos for you all. Third gear pull Second gear pull Walk around Ok finally got around to swapping my cluster lights for my new led ones. Already had leds but decided to change the color. Ok forgot to put what the new boost was as i added my glowshift boost gauge after i upped it. It now pushes 12 psi steady. Also got a new update with some new parts. The new holster mounted on my center console The small yet important upgrade parts Sway bar endlinks Sway bar bushings Tie rod end boots

Well got my tie-rod ends with new rack and pinion bellows finally replaced today. Also got all my energy suspension polyurethane parts installed. New tie-rod installed with ES poly boots Factory bushings vs. ES poly bushings Factory endlinks vs. ES poly endlinks ES poly endlinks installed ES poly bushings installed Ok another update with some good pics. Pulled my valve cover to replace the cam seals and valve cover gasket. Since i had the parts off i decided to add some paint. Painted the valve cover red and black, repainted my upper timing cover black, and painted my intake tube flat black. Got tired of seeing the chrome paint it came painted. The valve cover didnt come out as great as i was hoping but still better than what it was. Well got my old wore out trans side rubber bushing swapped out with a poly one. In doing so it got rid of some of the vibrations the car had at idle. Who would have though the two trans poly bushings would have less vibrations than just one. Ok well here's the pics I took.

I am thinking of buying a 1991 tercel.
It has excess oil consumption and High idle. Do you have any suggestions?

Dman You could do a rebuild on the 3ee or for a budget swap you can get a 5efe out of a 92 paseo to swap in. If you wanna go for a little power you can swap in a 4efte like I'm currently running but that will run about $1500 for just the engine, trans, wiring harness, and ecu. You will still have to redo the harness for the tercel. Also leave a little more in your budget for other parts you may need to finish the swap. I think total cost when I did my 4e swap was about $2k but I bought solid rear mount, aftermarket exhaust mani and downpipe, sent my harness to be finished, and also some other goodies.

Well if he's stuck to a small budget like I was, going 5e will get him a slight upgrade in power over stock and better reliability than the 3ee with maybe $500 total cost. As for the 4e swap, that would roughly cost 4x that but bring more power because the turbo. It will not be a new engine though but most imported have only 50k miles on them so basically new for Toyota engines lol. Quick breakdown of the three engines. 3ee SOHC 1.5L rated at 89hp 5efe DOHC 1.5L rated at 98hp 4efte DOHC 1.3L rated at 135hp All three are power at the crank from the factory. Granted you can net more with some bolt-ons but the 4e will gain more than the other 2 with same work done. Plus on the 4e, you can raise the boost level from the factory 9psi to 12psi I have mine set to with just a few washers between the turbo housing and the wastegate actuator bracket. If you are looking to go straight to power then go 4e. If you want more later, then source a 5e block to build with forged internals and throw the 4e head and turbo components on it for even more. If needed I can link to someone that has done just that. Ran the 4e for a while racing it and then built the 5e for more. Most recent time on the strip was 11.527@125mph in the 1/4 mile with a 3rd gen tercel.
