Alas, the stock USDM crash bar does not fit behind the JDM bumpers.

The JP 97+ AE100/101 has the same rebar (same part #) as the US model. So I;m basically wondering if they did a SLIGHT design change in the '97 or '98 bumper to allow for the fitment of the rebar.

Hey sorry I didn't reply sooner. But what's the rebar? Is it where the bumper is mounted? If so then no, I did not have to do any modification. All I had to do to install the JDM bumper was remove the crash bar.

Rebat/Crash bar, same thing. Then I guess when they added the rebar to the JP car, they slightly changed the bumper.

hey kennydang, havn't had the chance to really be on the website since i havnt been home much and i normally check through my phone, but luckily finally able to see the progress of the car and im very very happy for you. Not in any respect but you came from a rice beggining car to a stock jdm look, im loving it, glad you went with that bumper since most can't get their hands on it, as far as the bumper your not really the only one with it, the buddy of mine that sold me the one i had on the red car, and the one the i also sold to rinconrolla, he's rocking your bumper on a wagon with a lip and it looks great.as a matter of fact i think hes even got another for sale since he brings them everytime he goes to jamaica. but anyways man, very proud of you, i did see the car in sr7, and hope that i see a 3sgte, a beams, or atleast a 20v swap in there the next time i see. but definately good stuff on the car.

1/25/2012Well I finally sold the body-kit to a neighbor and he gave me his OEM rear bumper and mudflaps on top of the cash. I had to do a little sanding and primering to get rid of the previous gold paint. I'm not liking the way the rear looks. I'm keeping the taillights for sure though. I think I'm going to go back to the OEM center garnish rather than this shaved one. The shaved garnish went well with the body kit but with the OEM bumper, it makes it look like something's missing.. And I picked up a nice aftermarket oval shaped muffler from the pick n' pull for $13 that I'll install this weekend. The current Tsudo muflfer just looks out of place... I'm still wanting to do a custom rear lip for the rear since it looks so bare. Maybe I'm just not used to it lol.

Good luck finding a rear lip for it... JDM lips won't fit (and even Scott can't find one he likes lol).
You need the JDM facelift tail lights!

lol that's why I said I wanted to do a custom rear lip. I'm wondering how compatible my sister's Accord lip is... And I'm keeping these tails!
