Good stuff man. Was the swap a success?
And how were you lowering it? Kinda makes me paranoid about how I did mine. O.o

yessir. swap runs 100% excellent. he had to get the ecu flashed though and when we first did it, it had a bind so we had a couple og kinks to work out, but everything was done. tune up and everything. and now he is in love with the car. this year makes 3 years ive had this car, and it WILL have my blacktop planted in it. it makes me envious to see his swap done lol but its all good. brotherly competition.
as far as the coils, yea i know. i looked up some vids yesterday on youtube and it him me when i saw everyone else doing it without actually removing the whole wheel assembly. i grew with excitement because the only reason i didnt go any lower recently was due to having to get an alignment haha

If you guys can do a Mustang, a little 4 banger has to be all the more easier.
Yeah, I don't even have to remove my wheels since the KWs give such a big droop. You should buy the lifetime alignment from Firestone for $170. It's like they made that deal just for coilover owners. lol I've more than doubled my money's worth. ;D

hmmm lifetime alignment huh? ill have to chek em out. last time i went they cambered my fronts like crazy and told me it was normal lol. ughh!

An alignment is only as good as the tech doing it. With the lifetime alignment, you can hop around different Firestone shops till you find one that does the job right.
I've come to hate negative camber. The insides of my tires are starting to look like slicks and they're only 2 years old. I'm now running zero camber and proud of it! ;D

so when i order my coils in the next few days im prolly gonna add the front strut brace also was wondering if anyone has heard anything about it on jmautoracing.com they have it for $87 and it has it on a corolla in the picture and it looks like the 1.8l anyone think i should go for it it seems alot cheaper than the trd one which i know for trd ur prolly mostly payin for the name

I never got an alignment on either car after lowering, but I think the IS has more complicated suspension geometry, causing the toe to be off and lose traction.

^ lol you mustve had horrible ride then? if i never get an alignment the car rides like crap

Actually it has always rode really well. I love the natural negative camber. The Corolla was fine, but I think the geometry of lowering the IS makes the toe off, so the tires are working against each other, causing them to break loose sooner.
