Nice looking ride bro, nice job with the upgrades............... Thanks bro, I try my best to keep it stock. You can get good power out of the 7a with less the money What other suggestion you got? Mini update: I've been driving around without a passenger seat belt for a couple months now, finally got one from a junk yard that actually works.. too bad it's not the same color as my interior. I didn't realize how heavy those bucket seats were, when I finish added some more stuff I might take it up to the drag strip and race without my passenger seat lol

Are your head lights yellow then that would affect the output also going boost would be your best bet 7lbs to be safe. I seen and heard people go up to 10lbs but every motor is different

I seen and heard people go up to 10lbs but every motor is different yea mine are really yellow, I ordered some new clear ones, whenever they get here I wanna see if the lights seem any brighter.. as for the boost, you can turbo a 7a up to 7lbs safely without doing any work to the engine? I didn't think you could... Mini update, tested the lights out at night, not worth the $30 I paid for, they literally feel no better than my old halogens.. what a shame, gonna return em if the output seems just as bad when my new headlights come in. without hi-beams on with hi-beams on

well they look to be 1000k hid which wont have as much output as 5000k or 6000k but the xentric or whatever those hids are, are not very good i would suggest spending a little more and get something with a metal ballast they are put together better and last longer. the hazed up lens will also be a reason why they are not bright. also i am not sure if it is possible on the older generations but retrofitting a projector lens into the headlight will also produce a better light output making it more controlled and safer for oncoming traffic. this is just my 2c i have 8000k in my low beams and 3000k in my fogs and i see perfectly fine but i have other things i could spend 300 dollars on rather than retrofit my headlights so mine work great and i have two different brands from ebay. these are mine before and after for the low beams:

The further you go up the Kelvin scale, the worst the actual visibility will be. So the best ratings would generally be around 4300k-5000k; the more blue it is, the worse it gets. Which rating did you buy? And I'm still in love with your seats.

I'm actually running 8,000k, I knew if I went any higher that it wouldn't be that bright so I just stuck with 8000k just to have a little bit of blue in it. what brand do you have? i honestly dont remember what brand i got i just know i have the all metal ballast if you need a higher light output you might want to try the 55w also instead of 35w here is a picture at night looking at the front of mine: and here is one outside the car looking at the garage from about 20+ft: if you want a better output i would suggest on the next kit get 5000k at the most if you like the blue then you can use those bulbs with the new ballast.

I ran across this video last night. I guess one of the most over looked thing is that ballasts are not all equal. Hope it helps:

cbrigs2010 and kennydang91 thanks for the help! so I'm thinking I should roll with a metal ballast and at least 55w. because most of the areas I drive in at night have no street lights and people just think it's awesome to walk in the dark with dark clothes on. So I returned the xentec HID kit and I'm waiting on my refund. Someone told me DDM was a good HID brand, I don't know I never heard of em'. But MY NEXT REAL question is... I want more power lol, so I was wondering should I turbo the 7a OR do a blacktop swap? Any opinions welcome! Please I need the help! And while you think about that, here's some eye candy lol Washed my car and took some pics right before it rained

A blacktop swap would be sooooo awesome. I would've done one a long time ago if I didn't live in Cali where we have to pass smog. As for the ballasts I would recommend these Morimotos. It's hard to know what's legit and what's not since ebay has sooooo many Chinese knockoffs when it comes to HIDs. Do a lot of careful research before you buy. Kinda pricey but you can expect great quality, customer service and a warranty with them. www.ebay.com/itm/230959269777?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Is there a lot of work required to do a blacktop swap? I mean it shouldn't be too much because it should bolt up am I right?

Yeah stay away from cheap Ebay HID kits.... that should be obvious. GO with a good brand, with a real company behind it, like TRS, XenonDepot, or Retro-Solutions.

Thanks guys, I'll just have to look out for cheap stuff and and try to find a good brand. Time to do some more saving. So I was thinking doing a transmission and engine swap, going to a blacktop, would this be recommended by any you all?

yup, love the seats. I swapped my seats for some LE model seats but I could never find brown colored seats. Mine are blue.
