Hey wats up CCC fam. Ok here's my project that I want to get started ASAP. I had a question as to what is the cheapest but most effective way to boost a 9th Gen. I have even gon so far as to thinking about boosting it and adding a Trd supercharger to it. Oh and my brother wanted me to ask if he would be able to put velocity stacks on his 9th gen and if so how could he do it. Any othe suggestions for adding much needed and deserved power to a 9th Gen is more than welcome.

If you get the trd s/c you need an adapter plate cuz 05+ throttle body is different from the 03/04

Monkey wrench racing sells a turbo kit for your car ... And as far as the velocity stacks if by that do you mean individual throttle bodies? And if so you can always buy a silver top or black top one and have a adapter plate made for it and then you will need something to tune it

Unless he has the xrs its a 1zzfe and for the itbs it is possible but you wont build crap for power after all the money you gotta spend to convert from the maf and getting the itbs fitted/tuned turbo is the cheapest route if he wants to build power unless he wants over 230hp then he gotta build the motor

I was price shopping on eBay but turbo kits are anywhere between $1500-$3000 and they are pretty much the same on other sites. I was just thinking of piecing everything together and doing a custom job. Wish we had some CCC members is Mississippi because I know this is going to take some time and help...

Well from experience buy a kit bro I pieced everything together and let me tell you its a rough road doing a custom kit not to mention everything I've done by hand and piece by peice on a stock bottom end and have little over 3k invested if I knew what I now now I would have bought the kit the manifold alone is a bitch to find as to with a kit you get one those 2zz motors are nice but have shitty valves build the motor first then turbo a n/a 2zz will produce more power with a built motor then everything I've done to my 1zz

in japan they have the 2zz running on a supercharger called the ortura SC. Its making about 240hp with stock internals. I bought one for my 1zz that cost me $300 where once fully tuned i should be at about 180 to the wheels. All you have to do is find a way to get the intake and exhaust flange made for it. I would recommend you looking at it.

by the way your car i imagen is the xrs sense you have the 2zz. I dont recommend you turbo it with stuck internals because for what i have read and understand from others is that the 2zz motor does not like turbo on stock internals.

Yea stock 2zz has a 11.5:1cr so depending on the turbo about 8 pounds is safe and should make around 260hp after a good tune

i got the 9th gen xrs. if u dont have a hell of a lot of money, i dont reccommend boosting it, i'm probably gonna go with the supercharger option
