i currently have a 98 corolla wit a short ram intake. ive been reading that cold air intakes are better so i would like to switch to one and customize it so the filter is in the open space in front of the left wheel...my question is, is it better to use pipes or can i use like those flexible tubes u see at like pep boys and get the same effect? i dont mind using pipes i think it looks better but im not the mechanic type so idk which would be better or if there was no difference etc...thx

nope - You have shorter and longer now there is a difference there , You lose launch but you can on high end , Making sure it doesnt suck up hot air if to high and then you have to worry about sucking water if you have it low , Its a give and take , you want something you have to give up something
