Thought this would be the correct place to put this. This involves using either BigPort/SmallPort Heads on A SilverTop 20valve Bottem. Using the HeadGasket For the Head you use, i used a BigPort with matching HG on the ST Bottem.I will try and post pics as what you will have as far as a mixture Of Compression will be 10:8:1 as the CC's of the 16v chambers are smaller then that of the 20v's if i am not mistaken all your Timing marks Do remain the same as my setup is complete up & running, it does still like to rev but since mines is also Turbo & lacking the megasquirt to run its full potential.It still Kicks butt & with the compression ratio being so much higher then the factory's 9:4:1 there IS NO TURBO LAG...Lol Ok so BigPort Head fresh & back from Machine Shop The SilverTop Bottem Head on block And Last but not least Swapped Geared & Belted

So I'm not very mechanic savvy so what are the benefits of doing this conversion? Is it solely for turbo setups or would it also benefit an n/a setup?

The purpose of this set is trial & No Room for Error...the high comp is good for N/A , which was my actual plan for just getting the car back on the road.Thing is i got Big Nuts All Go No Slow Feeling and did this just cuz i was tired of looking at my turbo parts but, Yes Best of both No Lag + Boost= one Badass Ae86 Turbo
