Ok. So it's been a long time waiting I'm finally ready to do a 20v swap. I'm going to purchase a full clip. So hopefully that will help me take care of alot o parts I'm going to have to replace. I'm going to be sending the harness out to dr tweak now I have to decide what I am going to do for engine management. I have emissions for a Few more years with this car in my state and want to be able to pass. For me to pass ill have to have a computer that will run obd2 from what I gather none of the 4age ecu were obd2. So my question is does anyone know of a good solution to this? I don't think they can remap and chip the 7afe ecu. So does that mean I need a after market piggyback like an emanage or unichip or mega squirt? Can I run one of those piggybacks in parallel with the stock ecu Or would It be smarter to try and run it off a Honda ecu? Any advice tips or anything for the swap will be greatly appreciated. Also if this is in the wrong sub forum sorry!

hmmm well congrats on the swap bro. Should be fun.. The 20v swap is popular for a majority of reasons. Anywho, im not 100%sure on the piggyback scenario. Even more precisely the obd2. If no one here replys with the answer to that question you may be able to go to club4age with the question. im sure someone there knows too. Which model is it going into? if its an ae101 sedan then it should be a straight drop in. nothing special really needed. Just the harness. Also i would check out Mr220v. He does harness swaps as well and you may come out 100 dollars cheaper. maybe even less.

There are some people using Honda ecus with these old Toyota motor but it's a rare thing at the moment they pop up once in a while. Only reason for cause there's so many chips for it
