I sold my 2001 Ford Sport Trac and was searching for a full sized 06-08 truck...my first option was a Tundra (07-08) however it was outside of my budget due to been tax season. All dealerships are taking everyone to the max. NO DISCOUNTS ON USED CAR/TRUCK AT ALL...one dealer said we'll give me $250 credit toward parts at their counter! What an insult!
So I went and got to a private seller and got this nicely equiped F150 with 113k miles for well under book value.
Any Tundra I could find at the price tag I paid for my FX4, had at least 160K miles and would have the small v8 and most would have no power seats...I did found one with 99K miles but had the V6 engine (Heck NO!) and as some of you know my wife is short and will need all the seat adjustments available in order to be able to reach pedals vs. steering wheel proximity...I even thought on a Tacoma...but they too are overpriced when you compare to a full size truck selling at the same price!
So this FX4 has everthing including adjustable pedals, full 4 doors which Tundras majority available had the 1/2 doors in the rear and none would have adjustable pedals. And is a 4x4 with Sunroof, double bed liner (sprayed and plastic) and heated seats!! Oh well...
I think I did good, except for not been a Tundra...but F150 has been the best selling truck in over 35 years...Ford has been building an awesome truck and now I have one...this thing rides awesome and is in excellent shape. I could turn around and make money selling it if I wanted to go thru the hassle.
I'll just keep it for 5+ years then go for the Tundra at that time. Here's some pictures...
