better off just buying a new car if the swap cost over 10grand which the corolla XRS goes for now up to 12grand depending on the condition doin the swap to the 8thgen is great but downside to the fact of engine bay room there are some bolts that make the 2ZZ kick ass dont fit like the DD intake manifold which it just pure sex

I just woundering , the 3sge engine and 4a\7afe has the same mounting posisjon in the chassi . dont the 2zzge alsow has this mounting posisoin? ( i swapt a 4a- fe and ge engine in a car that had 4efe engine as a standar . only the right engine mount was wrong in this swap . is it going to be al the mounts this time ? )

The new engines are slightly bigger so clearance issue may occur. Ex. swapping 3sgte into a 8thgen corolla hood clearance was a pain for that person who was doin it years ago. If u swap with a car with more engine room u would be golden like a 9thgen *Something I would love to do in the future

Idk man some guy on this forum has a 3sgte in his 7th gsm and said he didn't have any issues clearing the hood and the 7th gen and 8th are the same chassis so he shouldn't have a issue plus a 2zz has already been done in a 8th gen even a fx, echo, and tercel

Who cares about spending 10k on a car you prefer if you love your 8gen then build it I've gone through 2 1zz and bought mine with 0 miles on it in 2000 and have over20k invested in it mine looks like ass right now but I love this car more then any 4 Banger made. I'm I'm in the process of buying a mwr race 2zz. And after I kill this 1zz with the new Turbo I'm doing the swap you just gotta have faith in yourself and take your time.. do what you want cause it can be done... I've seen a Guy do a v8 in a evo8 and tell me he didn't have clearance issues cause I know he did but he got it done.... just do it but don't go to a shop unless you don't have the will power to do it yourself.
