Here's a good start ... You need the entire motor, tranny, ecu, harness, custom mounts, custom axels, ummmm and someone that will do the work for you, you know like moding the harness dropping the motor and tranny the axels the custom mounts ... That's all I can think of really I'm sure I'm missing a lot

still gonna need custom mounts regardless but since the 98 has a 1zzfe like the 03-08 it should fit bit it will be a tight fit but the concern i have is would the gauge work with the 2zz since its redline is about 2k higher than the 1zz

ayooo just take your time and slowly collect parts the wait will be worth it man believe me the way i've seen 2zzge mop up cars this isnt a mop up but a still a win versus a turbo car www.youtube.com/user/magusownz#p/u/55/Uhg_oih_AYAand if that heavier shell could do that with i/h/e/apexipfc imagine your lighter 8th gen

i agree with sk149.. i kno i can jus sell the car n try n get the XRS but i was thinkin how fast the XRS are with jus little mods i could imagine what that setup would b in a smaller 8th gen corolla.. plus no diss to u guys who own the body style its a lovely car, but i prefer the smaller body.. i emailed phoenix tuning and asked them how much would they charge me for a swap like this n this is what he said :: 10-12g's for a 2ZZGE engine / transmission swap, basic tune up of the engine, clutch, flywheel resurfacing. Auto-to-manual conversion, labor, n along with any other small little bits that might be needed.. this is for the blue corolla i have.... what do you guys think?

I would just buy the motor and tranny and do the installation yourself. If you got the money and want to do it then that's fine but I would just use parts of that money to buy the parts and do install myself. That is if you got the time and patience...
