i have some question ive got my 20v started and running but it roughly idles from 1200 rpm to 3000 rpm and back and forth.
I currently dont have the o2 sensor on and there also isnt a downpipe on the header yet and the motor was backfiring and fire was coming from the header
what can i do to fix it?

Well u get a down pipe that should fix the back fireing and that's idleing issue could be comeing from a vacume line not hooked up right plugs backwards umm mayb even the o2 sensor do u have ur maf sensor hooked up ??

your idling could be those vacuum lines, spray carb stocker around it to see if its sucking it in anywhere near the manifold, its also idling/backfiring crazy because you have only open headers, and as far as 02 sensor, my 02 sensor wires ripped off in the last month for running over a racoon so i dont think it would cause a problem, but then again your ecu is blind since it has no memory of what the car use to run before.and yes the afm should be connected, if not i dont think the car would run
