FINALLY DRIVING MY BABY ON THE STREETS AGAIN.all done, just need to modify the top tranny mount, going to take it to my boy andre at RAW(the dude who has the ae86 s2k motor) so that they can fabricate me a custom mount. i was out of gas so i took a drive to the gas station to fill her up and walmart to pick up some oil, and man i loved it, of course it sucks to drive a 20v for 800+miles and not be able to stomp on the pedal due to breaking in the new clutch, but still it is such a difference compared ot my old tranny. the shifts are so much cripsier, i can downshift to third and shift into third without hearing any grind whatsoever.I LOVE IT.i might even drive to orlando for the hell of it just to reach 800miles quicker. feeding the baby'

the 6spd mount if much different then the regular mount, im going to get it custom fit so i can put the rubber in between, or probably find a different mount that'll fit.i dont want to go back to using the 5spd mount, it'll break off

only reverse, no havnt bled clutch and yes shift cables are tied down.i have to use two hands to put it into reverse as well, the only thing that comes to my mind, is that pilot bearing i added which it had none when i took the tranny off.

Why'd you do that? I would pull everything and remove that pilot bearing even if isn't causing that problem.

Good luck with your input shaft...you'll be having to pull that trans well before you're wanting to.

damn, I was also confused about the pilot bearing that came with my kit, and wasn't planning on putting it in since one didn't come out. Also, thanks for sharing the pics on that bracket. I've been wondering how different they were. Seemed like an easy fix.

yea but the issue with my bracket, was that a pice broke off, i had welded it back on but it doesnt sit flush, thats why it kept yanking it ou, so pretty much my boy's welder is most likely going to cut it even worse and weld on a flushed flat one with the three main holes i need.im about 190miles. : ), i havnt really asked around the main dudes that own their own shops except for one, who's a master ase tech that comes over to the restaurant on the weekends everytime and asked him what excacly that bushing was doing in there if it wasn't need, and he said "its doing absolutely nothing" its not helping and its not bothering, no point of worrying about it. as for the reverse he told me to adjust the cables, so thats what ill be messing with tomorow.maaan it feels good to be driving my baby again, and easily downshift into third without hearing grinding.more to come guys, stay tuned! and trife, for the brown car, when i put the tranny back on, i plan on not instaling the pilot bushing.
