thanx to tino for letting us know of a way to take that 3.5'long adaptor that comes along with 4ages, in order to fit the oil filter snugged onto the block. this is good for those who are going turbo and don't want to to do the oil relocation in order to get some space, i personaly had an issue with my jasma headers due to this.Anyways the way to do it is by going to your local junkyard and removing the inner thread piece that comes stock on 4afe/7afe/5sfe, make sure u bring a long socket if possible to remove it(i'll post socket size l8r).once you have it jump onto that adaptor and take off the 4 bolts around it to remove half of that adaptor(its easier to leave the filter on it so u dont make a mess with the oil, plus i recently changed my oil less than a month ago)
once u clear that, remove the middle nut which is screwed onto the block.once removed should look like this
the 1 on the left is the one just taken out, the right one is how it looks after removing it from the "fe blocks"
now, just do ur best on prying and hammering that last adaptor off, remember its been pressed against ur block so takes some muscle.when u finally get it off heres the result
now just make sure u remove that gasket sitting on the block, and screw in the new one, make sure u tighten it in well, and wala ur filter will sit flushed perfectly, MAKE SURE IT DOESNT LEAK.
u just cleared atleast 3inches away ur filter from being so close to those hot headers and are able to clear space for ur turbo manifold.. P.S~~>gonna have my a/c running this weekend, yesssssss, did all my lines, had to bend the pressure line a bit to make it clear the headers and fit the lines onto the jdm compressor, only problem is that i need to reuild the compressor since both compressors i have were seized from sitting around so long
