I'll get some pics up soon waiting on the bike to be shipped from detroit .. already starting getting parts ordered some 144 spoke baby daytons and a few other things mostly gonna be original parts from the bike like chain guard, fenders, fork crown, gosse neck, handle bars from a 74 pixie and period correct grips and a seat pre war seat off a mesinger... gonna be sweet original yellow paint .. well its gonna get resprayed with the original paint thats already mixed and waiting or i might mount all the pretty chrome and re-chromed parts with the original paint and all the scratches i think it will give the bike character..

I just got into biking myself. Bought myself an IS300 and now it collects dust lol. I do 27 miles a day getting to work and back. Went out for 28 miles today for fun.
I don't know much about different bikes, since I built mine out of several I had in the shed. So it isn't the best, but it works great for going FAST. I spent $100 on tires this week lol. Continental Gatorskins.

I must of spent 95% of my time on my bike about 2 years ago before I was moved to a different work branch. I swear i can plug in the iPod and go for hours at a time.

I have been into schwinn bikes for years i have one myself its a 20 inch schwinn stingray it was in like a forest green but now its in a copper color with a springer fork. Honestly not to my liking but my dad did not want those parts and well i said why not its free. i havent worked on it in a while though. I been wanting to restore it to original but all the parts like the schwinn shifter cost a fortune.

They call that a sisi bar if that is how you spell it. Mine has one too. It just looks weird since the front of the bike sits really low.

Kool thread, I own a few old bikes myself, A work in progress I'll post pics soon....
I'm currently working on my daughters 1964 Schwinn she out grew her 1974 Schwinn Fairlady, still keeping it, still in good condition other than dry rot tires (originals) My son has a 1976 Western Flyer with the simulated gas tank, we made this one have like a Rat, old school Motorcycle look with the low seat, whitewalls and monkey bars. My youngest has a 16 inch 1974 Caltech made in Cali, looks just like a Schwinn. I have a Lowrider that yet to finish since I moved to FL, it's been in boxes, lots of new parts too, thinking of doing mine in Honor of the Military with camo paint and military details. The reason for this is so My kid and me can take to car shows in Honor Of Our Troops, Especially honoring my friend Jason which lost his life in Iraq do to this( no sense) war. hopefully I'll be done with this one right after my daughters, hers should be done for her Bday soon.
