ima just throw random prices out there. lets say i sell you the tranny with the whole manual conversion(pedals,linkages,levin shifter w/ base,clutch resoiver-450(that saves you from going back and forth to different junkyards), then depending if you want a bt or st, you just buy the motor only with wiring which is normally around 700 for st or 800+for bt from my connection down in miami, and your set, just send your stock wiring harness to mrmr220v n the 20v harness, n thats an extra i dont remember 300-400.alot of times here in fl you can find the motors alone for 500(motor only)

i think total i spent motor/trans silvertop 900 wiring 350 - from mr220v- afm 25-junkyard - tune up was expensive all from toyota dealer dizzy alone was 60bucks wires 145-paid 35 from a 94 4runner tho shit i forgot what else but we also did m/t swap think i dropped like 1600 total which wasnt bad ,

goodness...well im a newb with all that stuff haha. but im save my monies up and if the offer is still up, ill take it. But if someone else comes for it no big deal. Im jus kinda broke becuase its the beggining of my semster at college. Im glad i have the support of people on here. Whenever i get around to it, im def. hittin some of yall up and we gotta get together and pull all of it through haha. cuz i would be lost on all of it lol!!!!

before thinking of swapping a 20 valve quad body motor into your 7th gen, couple of questions:

1. What type of set do you want? NA or FI? Twincharge?

2. You prepared to run into many issues when swapping another motor in? (you said you're in college, so that perhaps means still limited with budget, for now)

3. Have you ever tried considering tweaking your stock motor first before going for the swap?

4. Is there a reputable shop who's well-verse in working on 4AGE's? (Many can rewire and mount an engine or so, but few could really tuned the engine (GE) the way it should be performing when it was still running on its original body.


IMHO, consider tweaking your stock engine (FE) first and see what potentials it's got (see king7th gen's work on his 4AFTE)... there are many Rollas out there with a tweaked stock 4AFE/7AFE that performs well on the tracks (say, circuit racing for example)...

If you're stock engine's running well, you can consider holding the engine swap for the meantime...

Stings got a gd point bro. I've been working on my 7th gen for yrs and had to wait till I graduated college to get the money for the swap and even when I did I had to find a gd mechanic. Needless to say I still don't have it back it yet but it's in gd hands and I know when I do it'll be done..........until the next mod of course just take ur time dude it'll come together
