Hello Everyone! I'm trying to do some research bout 4age silver top swap. I'm on another corolla forum and I'm benefiting from them but i wanna hear what this forum has to say. so i would like to know the facts of people who have done this swap on there AE100.
like is a straight swap from the standard 16v engine ? or do you have to make some modifications on it?
when I'm swapping from A/T to M/T what do i have to worry about when doing this swap?
since this is my first time considering of doing this swap will the M/T come with a shifter? if not where can i get one that can go with the M/T?
Clutch pedal. can i get it from a M/T 93-97 corolla?
can i still use the stock axles from the A/T and put them in the M/T?
when I'm doing the engine wiring can i plug the engine looms right away or do i have do some alterations for it to work properly?
has there been any ECU problems when you first started it up?
i have the USDM instrument cluster gauage that just shows coolant temp, MPH speedo and Fuel levels. can i swap it out with one that has all of that plus a tachometer?
any other gauges that i may need to make? (like volt gauge, oil temp etc.)
when im done with the swap how many quarts of motor oil should i put in? and can i still use oil filters that were on the 16V engine? or do i have to get them from somewhere?
i have more questions to come but i think these are important to me right now

lol this thing has 43 reads and no comments. well ive never done the swap but i i am doing the blacktop swap starting at the beginning of 2013 which includes a manual conversion. all i have gathered so far is that its prob best to have the wire harness converted by an expert of some sort( by popularity dr. tweaks) and yes...just get the manual parts(clutch, lines etc) from a manual corolla of the same year and model. the biggest thing from what ive heard is the wiring and brackets. maybe a couple of issues with A/C and power seering fitment..not 100% sure. good luck!!!

btw what i would do is check throughout this forum...there are plenty of threads on these sorts of things so its usually easier just to do some silent reading.

Ummm yes you have many questions to answer a few if your car is auto then you should find yourself a manual corolla of the same generation in a junk yard and take the manual brackets on the ones that have brackets and then take the pedals take the shifter cables the shifter assembly you will need manual axels from the same gen as your car and the harness you will need to get it made by someone there's dr tweaks among others ... It would be a much easier swap if your car was manual
