Waz up everyone!! as some of you know I had volunteer my car to install a SC12 Supercharger on it. Well sense installed i have seen the supercharger work for no more than 2 continues hours. At first i figure that it was the belt that was too big so i ended up going to advanced auto parts and getting a smaller belt and adjusting it to the size of the supercharger pully. Well to my disappointment that didn't work. Can anyone think of anything that i might of missed to see why the supercharger does not stay on? please help!

how is it that it doesn't stay on? If it's belt driven, it should always be on if the engine is running....I'm confused

It has a clutch. It needs to be plugged in to an electrical current in order to activate. now the thing is that i plugged it in so that when the car turns on so does the supercharger. Some times in very low rev it will try to turn on but then it just turns back off.

Maybe the clutch gets hot then shuts off to protect it ,

sometimes it comes on after the car has been on for a while and shuts off right away. the thing is that i see the clutch spinning so that's why I can't seem to figure out where to attack this from

No what i did is i hooked it up to the cable that gives power to the cigarette lighter.

That's your problem..the cigarette lighter does not require that much power, maybe that's why it does not turn on. That happened to me when I tried hooking up my radiator fan to the radio, but the fan barely turned on or not at all. Find something the requires more power.

ok cool i'll try that. should i plug it in directly to the battery. I have it in the cigarette lighter with a quick disconnect just in case i ever had to unplug it for any reason. so if i put it to the battery with the same set up all i have to do is unplug it whenever i'm turning the car off right?
