Hey everyone I need help ASAP!!!!!!!! So my starter died on my ST. I took it to auto zone and got it checked just in case and they said it failed tests and I need a new one. I cross referenced the part number with that of a starter of a 2003 matrix and tried to make it work however it's a fail. With that being said does anyone know of something I could use or where I can get a replacement for my starter? I looked into the other models from 88-00 and none of those starters work any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I tried the one from my fe motor that I had lying around and it was too big so I assume the 4age 16v would be the same right?

This is from ADAM - Adam Garstka said Not a valid US part number. BUT, when searching and comparing the part # with the other JDM cars, the 4AGE and 4AFE share the same starter. So just get a US 4AFE or 7AFE one. And if in a cold state, make sure to get the higher KW rated starter.
Hope it helps

Ok guys here's a pic of both starters and why I'm curious the 4afe won't work. The top starter is the fe starter and the bottom one is off my 20v. The fe starter is much bigger and the end isn't encased like the 20v starter is.

Ok so I took a pic of the problem I'm having putting in my old starter that I had on my 4afe and this is the problem I'm running into. In the pic if u look, I know it's a crappy photo from my phone at a crappy angle, but there's 2 bars hanging down I unbolted them and they won't budge from the block which sucks b/c it's what's blocking me from putting in the starter. Any ideas?

Well I fixed the starter as everyone suggested I replaced it with the stock one on my fe, I was just being dumb lol. Now I got a new problem lol. I got a new optimum red top battery, working starter/alternator, but it still won't turn over. It's like it's not receiving fuel. I ordered a new walbro 255lph fuel pump so I hope that fixes it. If that doesn't work the only thing I can think of is replacing the injectors after that idk. I got new spark plugs, wires, etc. so I know that's not the problem. Any ideas would be great as I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what the problem is
