Skill level: 1 to 5 from easy to hard probably a 2 but can be very frustrating
Well I bought a universal oil catch can from ebay and as everything universal it takes modifications to make it work for a specific setup. it would probably be easier removing the intake manifold but can be done without.
Tools required:
8mm socket or screwdriver (hose clamps)
10mm socket (throttle body)
6in extension (to not bust knuckles)
a 5 allen wrench (the top of catch can)
1/4in or 3/8 rtchet
flathead screwdriver (to remove hose)
razor knife
3 1/2" to 1 1/4" hose clamps (not included)
tools to tighten fitting on catch can
extra hose (I used the old intake hose that connects to top of engine)
first you should probably grab a few drinks of choice because it might take awhile
unscrew the top pieces on catch can and put in the gaskets provided then tighten all fittings.
remove throttle body by taking off the 10mm bolts and nuts holding it on also disconnect the top two hoses on throttle body (this process is not needed but helps alot)
next remove the pcv valve hose from intake manifold
because the diameter on the oem hoses are wider than the attachment to the catch can I cut sections of the supplied hose to fit the hoses over and give less to have to tighten down on
take the top pieces off of the catch can attach one end to the pcv hose and the other piece to the hose you are putting on then tighten them down (I found this easier than trying to tighten them while attached to the catch can did not get pictures though)
I cut the bend off the oem intake hose as it is too long
once these steps are done attach pieces back to catch can and tighten down
next route hose that connects to intake manifold in between the bottom hose on the throttle body and connect it to manifold then tighten it down
replace throttle body all hoses and make for sure everything is tight then mount your catch can where you want in the area I used the radiator hose bracket next to the area
feel free to comment I will help in anyway I can if you run into trouble also post yours if you do it
