I have a 2001 Corolla LE and there is the steering feels quite loose. I often have to over steer and this takes away from the driving experience. Any suggestions as to what I can do to improve this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Other then putting a top support brace you might have issues with inner and outer tie rod , sway bar links , possible rack and pinion bad , I have had that with a bad rack , Are your tires wearing ? Have you had your suspension looked at or shaked it down ?

Check your steering rack bushings, one of them has a spot that is a locater so the rack doesn't move. I had the same problem. Part is inexpensive.
