PETERSBURG -- St. Petersburg Police say they stopped several people at a Walmart doing some last minute Christmas shopping. Problem was- police say they didn’t intend to pay. For the second time in a week, plain clothed detectives joined loss prevention officers at the Walmart store at 201 34th Street North, to arrest shoplifters. They arrested a total of eight people. These included five felonies and three misdemeanors. The youngest was a 10-year-old boy caught stealing video game accessories and candy bars, police say. He was not charged, and a parent was called to pick him up. One adult was also charged with violating probation for robbery, and another adult was charged with possession of crack cocaine. In a separate operation last week, 19 people were arrested, mostly on charges of retail theft although several had outstanding warrants and one juvenile was in violation of court ordered home detention for a previous burglary charge. Of those arrested, 9 were adults and 10 were juveniles
