If you plan on boost, then go with the GZE motor, swaps right in with no mods except for wiring and intercooler placement.

having both , i got to ask this.......what is your driving style? what are you looking for? torque or hp?
to put it into perspective......
to modify engines....spend $500 on gze , get a pulley, a front mount , largeport cams, and an abv mod....get about 50 crank hp.
spend $500 on blacktop for a set of cams and get 15-20 crank hp...
some gze parts are interchangable with 4age small port redtop , 7mgte, and aw11 4agze.
some 20v parts are interchangable with the 7afe and 4afe.
powerband in the gze is from 2000rpms-6000rpms.
powerband in 20v bt is from 4000rpms-8200rpms.
gze is boost freindly from the factory , some have been seen to run up to 26psi and 650hp on stock internals.
bt can be boosted to about 5-6 psi safely and might see mid 250-ish hp on internals.
to put in the gze you just have to relocate the coil packs , and block off the tranny side of the head where your coolant temp sensors are.
to put in the bt , youve got to replumb the water flow of your engine, either cut a hole in your firewall , beat the shit out of your fire wall , or buy a distributer relocation kit.
if you run a mechanical fan on either engine , be sure to replace the water pump with one designated for a bluetop rwd application....simply because the have extra ribbing and bracing to support the stress off the fan. a fwd water pump will fail everytime.
in this case electric fan is the way to go. you can use a honda accord coolant temp fan switch if you wanna make your electric fan automatic. find somewhere in your plumbing to tap it into , run power to the switch, then run the wire coming out of the switch to the fan , and ground the fan , you can also use a 4 prong relay for this after the sensor , for the sensor to send signal too, to avoid stressing the sensor.

Lol I'm reading thi and I got a quick question? Is there a cost diff between the 20v and gze? Like does one engine cost less than the other?

boost the 20V...but get ready to spend big bucks for upgrading internals. 4AGZE will be cheaper to boost since the internals already can handle boost

Lol I'm reading thi and I got a quick question? Is there a cost diff between the 20v and gze? Like does one engine cost less than the other? the blacktop can be obtained a little easier....however if your gonna buy a gze , make sure to get a half cut. you WILL need the axles to go with the e-58 tranny. you can use an ae92 gt-s tranny , but the money your going to spend on getting an LSD for the gt-s tranny , you could have bought the half cut. also its hard to swap a gze from just motor because the gze has all kinds of sensors and relays that are needed for correct operation. boost the 20V...but get ready to spend big bucks for upgrading internals. 4AGZE will be cheaper to boost since the internals already can handle boost not to mention $450 for just a damn plenum to mate to the ITB's yea im trying 2 but im not 2 sure the guy thats selling it wants 2 make a deal wit me... so if push comes 2 shove im jus gona have 2 get the 20v, cause i miss driving my car already -lmao.. SLOW DOWN!!!! thats the first mistake. dont rush it , you will cost yourself more money in the end. get the most complete swap you can find, you will thank me later. when it comes to finding those rare ass hard to find parts , youll be glad you bought a complete HALF CUT SWAP. when i bought my gze , i bought a front cut...yes it cost me $2700 vs. just a swap with engine, tranny, ecu, and harness. but by spending the extra loot , i knew i had every part needed to do the swap. me and my wife had it swapped in , in one weekend....turn key no questions. get the gze every body got the 20v THANK YOU!!!!!!!

i agree with shubert.... i am non biased (camry driver here) and the gze is better to start off with and the power band is more useable imho
