Heres a DIY...... Remove old motor and trans, install 20valve into car using the same mounts, get wiring done by mr220v(doug), plug it in and have fun. So simple a caveman can do it. Lol

Well, in all honesty, I've taken some pictures along the way. And I will def add any technical issues I come across. Here's some pics of the progress so far. Engine came out today So heres the 20V First I jacked up the back, left the front down since you will have to remove the CV axles to get the motor out. After I got the CV nuts loose. Jacked it up on all fours. Next I went to interior to remove the lower dash, remove the ECU and unplug the wire harness. Which needs to be pulled thru the fire wall for engine removal. Also I'm swapping from A/T to M/T so I removed the shifter. Also the shifter cable will need to be swapped for the M/T shift cables. Next, back to the outside...removing both axles. In the process of my swap, I plan to replace all suspension components so you will notice I pretty much ripped everything out. I'm upgrading the brake rotors, pads, and brake lines also in the process. Replacing wheel bearings. And planning to paint a few parts while it's down. Also had to remove some parts to get the motor out. First the radiator, disconnect some vacuum lines, remove the battery, remove the winshield washer fluid tank, disconnect the shift linkage, throttle cable, remove air filter box, disconnect the fuel line, remove charcoal canister, the igniter, disconnect the exhaust down pipe from manifold. Also the A/C compressor lines have similar connections on the 20V compressor but will need to be modified, so I went ahead and removed them. Disconnect the power steering line. I'm sure there are a couple things I'm missing. And obviously you need a decent engine lift... Then I ripped the exhaust out...won't be needing that no more And that's where I left off today.

Some more progress... Begun removing rear struts. Also installing brake pedal and clutch pedal. This has been a total pain. The brake pedal wasn't to bad. The clutch pedal has been a bit more tricky for me. The mounting holes are not present so they muct be drilled out. The only mount hole I see is the clutch pedal bracket hole up top. The lower mount bolt (which may have to be drilled and tapped) . All three holes for the master cylinder have to be drilled. I got them drilled already...but they still won't line up quite right So, I moved on to something else for now. Seperated the trans from the motor today. I was debating on a clutch and flywheel. Definitely needs a new one. Glad I'm doing this before the install. Heres some more pics of the nightmare First removed the back seat side bolsters to access the upper rear sruts mount bolts. Then moved on to the pedals. Removed the a/c duct that goes accross to have more room. Found my alarm module under there. Also removed the ABS control moule to the left of the brake pedal for more room to work. Then removed the ol brake pedal and swapped it with the new one. Used the same braket, but still gotta remove the bracket to swap the pedals Once that was done, I moved to the clutch pedal. As you can see where the cut out is. Then drilled some holes using the pedal mounting bracket. After trying to install it and having trouble...I decieded to come back to it later. I went to my 20V, and seperated the engine from the tranny. Not to bad...but needs a clutch and flywheel.

looks good, i hope every thing is ok. also i would change the belt to be 100% safe, and while your at the timing belt, change the crank seal, cam seal, and rear main seal, those are the worst. good luck too
