Hey I was looking on eBay and noticed the supertech valves, valve guides and springs, etc. Now im not too mechanic savvy and was wondering how all these parts would improve the performance on the 20v motor? I was gonna start buying the parts for the 7age swap once I got my car back and was wondering if these things would help? When I do the 7age I'm also gonna have the shop port and polish the head. I'm just planning ahead and trying to figure things out. Thx again guys

larger valves yeild more power. i think a p&p is better but make sure to "chrome- out" the exhaust side of the head to ease the flow of gasses

as for chroming, your just talking about making it shiny and not porting it out right? cause i know its kinda bad to port the exhaust side, i know supra guys dont port the exhaust, 7m motors just reminds me of a bigger version of a 4age

Ok cool thx. Is it just one or the other or can both be done? Is it really necessary? Or is the valve work only if like ur gonna track the car?

I've read on some sites that all the 20v really needs is a good port and polish. What I really want to know is how much more would buying these parts improve my performance? Especially with my plans to do the 7age

you pretty much just porting the holes bigger, good way to do it is by getting a intake gasket and matching the gasket, or go even bigger, and then taking the valves out and porting in there as well, but just make sure not to touch where the valve sits, i have done it to the supra, its really easy, just gotta find the right tools to do it, i used stones and its not good at all and took me a very long time, and im talking about the stones on the dremel tool

quick note.. the bt20v head stock alomsst the same as a 4ag 16v with 262 cams in amount of airflow. whoich is great already... just cam it. nothing crazy and it will allow you to keep stock springs and stuff. look it up

the heads are totally different fromm each other. from cams valve angles , air flow too. bt cams and st cams are different.. that why when you buy new ones they ask you which one you have.

But with the ST head should I still only upgrade the cams or is more work recommended. I am going to have the head ported and polished so just wanted to know what other upgrades would be recommended for the head. I'm gonna eventually do the 7age so I want to prepare it as best as I can before then. Thx

It depends on what you are going to be doing with your RPM's. If you are going to keep the same redline then you dont need to upgrade things like springs etc. If you are going to push it higher then you might have to, that way you can avoid valve float or failure. I assume you are going to keep this N/A if you are remember all your power is made on the head. So things like ITB's and cams is money better spent

My honest opinion if your going to build a 7age you might as well fully build it go the extra mile

yea thats what im gonna do. i wanna build it right the first time around so i dont waste money going back and forth. from what ive been able to gather i think im just gonna do the port and polish on the head and some jasma cam gears. I looked for some cams but the only ones i found were the toda and theyre like $1200!!!!!! maybe some knife edging on the stock cams will work? well still reading up before i make any major buys but thx again for the help guys
