hey everyone. i know this may be a long shot but does anyone know if there's a writeup out there on how to do a proper 20v st swap into a 97 corolla. i had taken my car to a shop to have it put in but now the mechanics telling me the swap is to complicated and he doesn't want to do it anymore. WTF he means idk, i heard it was pretty straight forward. Anyway, my buddy and i are going to try and do it ourselves but were just wondering if there's anything out there we could use as a reference guide. Thx in advance Is not that hard at all,I'm actually doing one right now.If you are going from AT to MT you need the MT motor mount for the tranny and the rear motor mount bracket a custom made power steering hose and finally the wiring witch it can cost you $400 +.If you need any help or pictures let me know.

doug (mr220v) did mine for $300, you won't find anywhere that cheap, and he has done thousands of harnesses already if i am not mistaken, and about 200 of them are 20v's into several diff cars, mr2, corolla (ae101, ae102, ee chassis's, ae92, ae86)
but at any rate, he is the man for the job. phoenixtuning needs to get their prices down to an affordable area and maybe more people would utilize their services

The truth should be known is the way I see it, thats why I recommend doug all the time. I have seen his work and everytime someone installs his harnesses, not one problem at all. a complete opposite with phoenixtuning wiring...........

unfortunately since i wrecked my car before installing the silvertop, i have not gotten a chance to validate his craftsmanship. but he contacts me every other month or so to see if i have installed it yet. he wants to make sure that when i do, i don't have any issues.
most places, you are doing good to get them to reply to you if you email them first

yeah, he does the same with my friend Ura. He did a harness for his Starlet and modified it so he can run coilover plug set up instead of using the stock dizzy. Awesome work doug does.
stay tuned, 20V starlet coming soon......wiring by doug aka mr220v

well hey everybody havent posted in a while. been busy but just wanna give an update on the 4age swap. The cars just been sitting b/c ive been so busy with work and stuff so I contacted E-shift performance in jersey and they agreed to do the swap for me and tune it up as well. Ive been real iffy about taking it to a shop to get done, which is y its just been sitting, b/c the last guy i took it too it just sat in his shop for 3 months only to have it returned to me with nothing done. Anyways E-shift has a good track record, ive heard and read a lot of good stuff about them, and they do real professional quality work. So car will be sent as soon as i get my income taxes back and they told me it'd be completely done in 2-3 weeks so hopefully ill be crusing around with my 20v by the end of february. here's there site check it out: www.eshiftpro.com

Hey guys quick ?. As u know I'm gonna be sending my car to have the 20v swap finished. I was wondering though whether or not to have the head ported too? How much would this benefit me? Hp/tq? What r the exact benefits of having this done? ?

why dont you pay chino aka mini2jz on the forums to do your swap.im pretty sure he wouldnt mind the money, plus he knows far beyond the tricks to making the swap stocker and faster than what a shop is doing with knowledge of not knowing how right the motor will sit

Hey everybody I didn't want to post a néw topic so I'll just ask the ? Here. Will the a/t trans from my 4afe work with my silvertop??? I will say no because they don't even bolt on into the 7afe. Besides why would you want to hold your car to only 3spd ?

@mindbeast- I know what you mean man. That is another reaso why I'm hesitant to buy a swap bc I don't have the tools required and the shops around me don't seem to have any knowledge about 20v and all that. Unless you want v-tec they are lost

Well I found a shop about an hr from me and they are very familiar with the swap he's said he's done it many times before. The place is going to do the swap, stock it up, tune, custom exhaust and everything for me. He said it would be done in 2-3 weeks tops. If I could find someone close to home to do it I would but there's no one and I already got played out once and not gonna let that happen again. I need to drop it off and know for sure that I'm gonna get what I'm paying for. The shop I'm gonna take it to has a great reputation and I'm confident that they'll get it done right the first time
